Meet the Visionary

My name is Manpreet Kaur. I was born and raised in a small village in Punjab, India, where my roots were deeply connected to the land, the language, and the rich traditions of Punjabi culture. Punjabi is my mother tongue — the first language I spoke and the one that remains closest to my heart.

I am fluent in Punjabi, Hindi, and English. Being multilingual has allowed me to appreciate the powerful role language plays in shaping identity, confidence, and connection. Language is not merely a means of communication; it is a way of belonging. I currently reside in Canada. I hold a Master’s degree in Computer Applications, and I am a professional educator. I teach English, Mathematics, Computer Studies, and Punjabi to children. With over seven years of teaching experience, I have worked closely with young learners, helping them build strong academic foundations with confidence and enthusiasm.

Teaching is not just my profession — it is my calling. My passion for education began at home, where I started teaching my nieces, nephews, and neighborhood children. Witnessing their growth, curiosity, and developing confidence inspired me to pursue this path wholeheartedly. What began as a small effort gradually evolved into a larger vision. The primary purpose behind founding Apni Maa Boli is to ensure that every child learns to read, write, and speak Punjabi with love and pride. I want children to understand the richness of Punjabi culture — the values we cherish, the traditions that shape us, and the stories that define our identity — so that our heritage is preserved and passed on to future generations.
